This modern Dublin dentist clinic is ideally located just minutes from the Dundrum Shopping centre. We are close to the Balally Luas stop, with easy access from the M50 Ballinteer exit, and convenient parking is located in the shopping centre. We are open seven days a week and offer weekend appointments on Saturdays from 10-4 and Sundays from 10-4. The practice is open 363 days of the year, so we’re always here when you need us.

Smiles Dental Dundrum is a purpose-built clinic offering a high tech, spacious environment for all your dental needs. We offer a full range of general dental services including emergency appointments and check-ups, and we also provide cosmetic dentistry in Dundrum including teeth whitening and veneers. In 2006, Dr. Ali Afrasiabi qualified from Trinity College Dublin with a bachelor’s degree in Dental Science. He has also gained an MSc in Endodontics from King’s College London, which he completed with distinction. Since graduating, Ali has worked in private practice and completed dentistry courses in implant dentistry, restorative dentistry and endodontics. He keeps up-to-date with the latest techniques and clinical protocols in dentistry.

Master Dental Science Orthodontics year 1993 Anastasios graduated from the Dental School of Athens, Greece in 1986, before completing a three-year master’s programme in orthodontics at Lund University, Sweden in 1993. His experience includes working in private practice and at Health Service Executive, Dublin, for eight years, where he treated patients with a variety of severe malocclusions. He continues to be amazed at the results that modern orthodontic treatments can achieve. Anastasios has developed a patented technique using orthodontic implants or micro screws to correct crowding, without needing to extract teeth. His technique won an international award for novelty from Primary Care Trust in 2014.

Dr Fernanda Mesquita

Dr Fernanda Roese Mesquita graduated from Pontificia Universidade Catolica do Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil in 2005. She later completed further education and training in Portugal, after which she was working in UK, she joined the Smiles Dental team in 2018.
Fernanda thinks that the patient’s journey is as important as the quality of  the treatment. Alongside with general dentistry, she has a particular interest in cosmetic ortho, Invisalign and Six Months Smiles.

Dr Martin Robledo qualified in 2000 at the National University of Rosario, Argentina. Martin joined Smiles Dental in 2010 and his favourite part of being a dentist is establishing trust and trying to break the initial phobia related with the dental treatments. Martin loves listening to the patients and making them feel at ease, as he feels it is a great reward. Martin also enjoys all facets of general dentistry, especially oral surgery and root canal treatments.

Dr. Hone was born and raised in Dublin and qualified from The Royal College of Surgeons In Ireland in Medicine in 1990. After completing his Internship, Dr. Hone returned to College to study Dentistry, qualifying with an Honors Degree from Trinity College Dublin in 1994.

He went on to train in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the UK, where He achieved the Fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons London Award in both – Dental Surgery and General Surgery – in 1997. Dr. Hone then began a three year Specialist Orthodontic Training Program at Guys Hospital London, completing his Specialist Orthodontic Training in 2002. At the same year, He was awarded a Membership in Orthodontics from Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.

Dr. Hone worked at St James Hospital Orthodontic Unit as a Specialist and was a Tutor in Orthodontics in the Dublin Dental Hospital from 2002 to 2006. He then worked in his own practice before joining the Smiles Dental Swords team in early 2020.

Dr. David Hone is part of the Specialist Orthodontist List of the Dental Council of Ireland and is a member of the Orthodontic Society of Ireland.

B.Dent Sc BDS 2017 Kate enjoys building relationships with her patients and ensuring they’re relaxed and comfortable throughout their journey. She enjoys general dentistry and has an interest in cosmetic dentistry. Kate graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 2017 and completed her vocational training in general practice in Newcastle, England. She spent two years working in a mixed NHS and private family practice in Edinburgh, before returning to Ireland in 2020 and joining our team. Kate has completed courses focused on a variety of treatments including Invisalign and composite bonding.

After spending four years as a general dentist, Shkre went on to complete an additional five years of specialist training. During this time he perfected the art and science of aesthetic and reconstructive dentistry (prosthodontics). In 2020, Shkre completed his specialist training and obtained a doctorate in Prosthodontics from Trinity College, Dublin. In August of the same year, he began working as a prosthodontist. Shkre receives referrals from general dentists and other dental specialists to assist them in the management of complex and challenging treatments. Shkre is devoted to his profession and never stops learning new and innovative techniques to bring to our patient community.
